To Errbody, From Ella. An FYS Update.

Hey hey.

Hey everyone! Here’s the deal on what’s going on in the world of FYS. There have been a lot of changes recently to the blog, but the results have only been good thus far. Know those interviews with The Bride Wore Black, The Audition, The Higher, Thrash Unreal, and Thee Aramada I’ve been promising? Yeah well, they’re coming, along with interviews with Linden, Cash Cash, and many more.

But in all seriousness, what I wanted to say was that I am now taking FYS and moving into a whole new realm of blogging. FYS is now “For Your Scene”, a bit more child friendly, easier to broadcast, and more meaningful to its actual purpose. Now, for every artist interview and review I do, I will be donating $1 of my own money, and my individual sponsors will do the same. The cause? It’s called the Sweet Relief Music Fund, and Matt Epstein introduced me to it. Sweet Relief is an organization based out of L.A. that raises money to help musicians in desperate need of financial assistance, be it because of an illness or simple because of mistreatment during their time in the industry. This year, the fund has taken a severe blow from the economy, but musicians have not stopped needing aid through this economic downturn. This team knows the importance of music and the impact it has on so many lives, and that sometimes it is important to take care of the individuals and groups who are making this music for all of us. The site definitely does more justice to describing the case, so check it out at sweetrelief.org.

Anyway, for every interview I do, I will be giving a dollar of my own money to Sweet Relief, and my sponsors will follow me with this. The goal is to have the sponsorship list grow, and by promoting and handing out information at events, the SR team and I believe that word will not only spread about this amazing work, but my interviews will serve more of a purpose then for mere recreation. Through these donations from companies and private parties, artists will receive the funding that they need, and the recognition they deserve.

What I ask from all ya’ll is that you send over as many artist suggestions as possible for me to interview to make sure these donations can happen as frequently as possible! I will interview any and all serious musicians, so just email me anytime at fyoscene@gmail.com and let’s work something out! (I also always want to hear comments, questions, and contributions! I definitely can’t do this alone for very long, so if you have a passion for writing and a creative edge, shoot me an email!)

Thank you all so much for your support so far. Good things are happening and I have no doubt that its because of you.
