ITS SUMMER TIME @ FYS

hey there.

After a brief break, I’m back! just wanted to let you know that I haven’t ditched this whole thing, in fact its just the opposite. I’ve been talking to a ton of artists about working with them to bring new things to FYS, including giveaways, contests, and videos.

Now, as much as I love doing this…I could always use some help! So if you or anyone you know may be interested in helping out around here (writing, promoting, brainstorming, interviewing) let me know by shooting an email over to foryourscene@gmail.com and we’ll go from there.

So you know how I was talking about contests? Yeah I’m starting one right now. The first two people to send me the names of 5 bands they could realistically see/would like to see interviewed/reviewed for the site and a means of contacting them will get a pass to the Vans Warped Tour in Oceanport, NJ on the 18th of this month. (Note: you will have to help for about an hour on that date to promote You Me At Six, but other than that you’re good to go!) That’s all. Hey guys. So, Long Island is known for pulling some amazing acts through the area. What do you love most about the LI music scene? What’s the best thing about Long Island in general?

The fans in Long Island are very devoted to their favorite bands, and will go above and beyond to support us in any way possible. The best thing about Long Island in general is the beaches!

You guys won your Bamboozle break contest, so congrats! What can the crowd expect on Day 1?

An action-packed set full of old songs, a brand new song from the upcoming EP, and our new cover song we played for the Break Contest. It’s going to be full of fans, friends, and family. It’s going to be spectacular.

If you could bring ANYONE (alive, dead, broken up) on an international tour with you, who would it be?

Blink 182 featuring Daffy Duck

The band van can mainly be described as?

A 90 year old woman that breaks down on a weekly basis.

Now I’ve been asking everyone this and I’ve got to know…how do you feel about the iPad?

It makes a pretty good frisbee.

How would you describe Score 24 fans in 12 syllables or less? How about a live show?

The BEST fans ever.

What’s one artist/group that you, as a band, has been inspired by that people wouldn’t expect?

Milly Vanilly!

How do you guys feel about today’s music industry?

People don’t buy music anymore, so it’s hard for bands to stay out on the road touring, it gets so expensive.

Best band/show memory thus far?

Van’s Warped Tour 2009. We had an amazing time, and got to play our home show date, and it was insane! Everyone went nuts and had a great time!

Give two good reasons why someone should listen to Score 24.

We sing about subjects that people can relate too, and we’re very personal with anyone who would be willing to take time out of their day to talk to us.

What’s one thing that you guys take pride in as a band?

We love the music we play, and we make our live shows fun for everyone. We’re very proud of every song we write and play, and share with all our fans.

Any big plans for the rest of the year?

Bamboozle is gonna be nuts, new EP coming out very early July, we’ll be on half the Van’s Warped Tour, and we’ll be touring non-stop!

You guys come from Dayton, Ohio. So I’ve gotta ask…what should people know about the Ohio music scene?

The Ohio music scene is coming up and getting very diverse.

What’s one amazing memory from a live show that stands out for you?

There was a random show in LA where Danny the singer from Asking Alexandria made a cameo on our last song. He came out of no where and the crowd went crazy as he screamed the end of Do Not Disturb.

Your bio reads that you “take the scene to the clubs”, which is definitely true. What is the songwriting/music composition process like for you guys?

Songwriting is different for every song. We start each song with a strong melody, progression or lyrical concept then we work it into our specific brand of rock to dance too.

What can fans expect on this upcoming tour? Any surprises for Bamboozle?

We have some new songs that we have been working on that we might play…you better be there to check it out!

Name something the world doesn’t know about Let’s Get It.

Our guitar/keyboard player is a superhero by night…if you see him at a show he might talk about it.

Why should someone take a chance on your band?

If they don’t leap, how will they know if they can fly??

Best advice you could give to up and coming bands wanting to make it big?

Work hard, cut corners, don’t burn bridges and don’t let anyone say “you can’t”

What can the world expect from Let’s Get It in 2010? Hints are encouraged.

Chris is scheduled to reveal himself as an actual superhero. Our album should come out late in the year with only amazing songs!! Where writing now and getting very excited!
